Growing Green Together

This conference will present opportunities for increased collaboration between the UK and Uganda across five key themes: climate finance, agribusiness, clean energy, clean infrastructure, and urban planning. There will be presentations and panel sessions featuring influential players from the UK and Uganda private and public sector who will talk through their experience and share knowledge on how Uganda can benefit from climate smart economic growth.

Opening Plenary

B3W- UK and Uganda growing green together; deepening our economic partnership.
This session will include welcome remarks from VIPs followed by keynote speech by Professor Sir Dieter Helm, Professor of Energy Policy at the University of Oxford, and Fellow in Economics at New College, Oxford.

Climate finance

How to create bankable projects that access UK investment.
This session will deep dive into climate finance with business case studies, a panel discussion, and the opportunity to learn more about UK investment vehicles such as UKEF and British International Investment (formerly CDC group).

Clean energy

How can innovative energy solutions work for your businesses in Uganda?
Innovate UK will open the session talking through their energy investments in East Africa, followed by a panel discussion with organisations discussing the benefits of investing in green solutions.

Youth Networking In Person Event

This session will look at how going green in the agriculture sector can drive profitability in Uganda. A panel of UK and Ugandan industry players will talk through their experiences and discuss how others in the industry could benefit.
